Editor-in-Chief: Prof. Alam Md. Mahbub

Prof. Alam Md. Mahbub is a distinguished professor at Harbin Institute of Technology (China), where he has been serving since 2012. Prior to his tenure at Harbin, he held academic and research positions at the University of Pretoria (South Africa), Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Bangladesh). He holds MEng and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Kitami Institute of Technology (Japan).
With over 400 technical articles authored and co-authored, including more than 250 SCI journal papers, Prof. Alam has made significant contributions to the fields of fluid-structure interaction, flow-induced vibrations, turbulence, wind load on structures, and energy harvesting from wind and ocean currents. His research has been published in top-tier journals such as Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Journal of Fluids & Structures, Ocean Engineering, and Physics of Fluids. His work has earned over 12,000 citations on Google Scholar and an h-index of 57.
Prof. Alam has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Japan Government Scholarship, JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship, NRF Young Researcher Award from South Africa, and recognition as a Highly Cited Researcher by Web of Science (since 2018). He has chaired multiple international conferences, delivered over 40 keynote speeches, and published five books. He also serves on the editorial boards of the journals Wind and Structures and Fluid Dynamics and Material Processing.
His research interests are centered around fluid-structure interactions, turbulent wake dynamics, hydrodynamics of swimming animals, and the development of sustainable energy solutions.
